I've been having a problem with PSP2023 Ultimate. I sent a message to the tech department, and after many emails, I was told to turn off my antivirus and run the cleanup tool twice, then to reinstall PSP using the link in the email.
I'm a little nervous about this as I recently had to upgrade my computer system, hardware and all. And when setting it up, I received several PUPs which continue to try to run once a week, but due to my antivirus program, they are stopped and quarantined.
So my question is, would you consider it okay to turn off the antivirus in order to use the tool, or should I keep it on and use the tool anyway? I know it seems like a silly question, but I'm wondering if this is a legit request.
Any ideas?
Is it okay to turn off antivirus to use cleanup tool?

I would try to get rid of the PUPs first. Your Anti-Virus may be quarantining them when they run but not what's bringing them back. Once they are gone they should remain gone and not be coming back weekly.
Look for uninstall instructions or use a dedicated remover like Malwarebytes ADWCleaner.
Then you can disable your Anti-Virus. The other option is see if your Anti-Virus can be made to specifically allow a single program do whatever it needs to. The Cleanup tool is a complied AutoIT script that deletes files and registry actions most Anti-Virus would find suspicious. So if you can get your Anti-Virus to leave it alone you don't need to turn it off to let it do its thing.

Thank you, LeviFiction. I have Malware Anti-Virus and I'll get rid of what is in quarantine.
