SmartRender yes or no

Post by Antois »

Does anyone perhaps know if there is an advantage to not enabling SmartRender? (VideoStudio 2022)

And the advantage to not enabling Acceleration hardware encoder?

Every system is different. I don't SmartRender but many people do. My old video card wasn't able to use hardware encoding but my new card loves it.

Make a fairly simple test project around two to five minutes long with some simple transitionss and text. Use a stop watch and render using different SR/Accel combinations and see what works for your system.

Some people with older or less powerful computers find that using SmartRender might cause some problems when rendering, in the form of blips or slight jumps. Turning off SmartRender might mean that a little more time is required in rendering, but the blips often seem to disappear without it.

Thank you Ken Berry. Interesting to know that SmartRender can have side effects.
