In my videos I sometimes need to create a video animation of a path along a map. The way I have been doing this is very tedious and painstaking -- and depending upon the method can look rather primitive. Are there any tools anywhere to make this easier?
The way I have been doing this is to create a series of images using an image editor (in this case Paint.net), each one having a small change (the path). Then I used the Video Studio "Insert Photo for time-lapse" function to sew them altogether.
This links to the result of one way I have done this: Path Animation. This looks smooth, but it was very tedious to accomplish.
This links to a demo of another way I have done this: Making of a Map Progress Animation. It's also tedious.

I use Route Generator, have done for years, gives excellent results. Have you tried proDAD RotoPen which you can find in the FX library

I've been doing these route animations that HARD way for literal years, and it never even occurred to me to look for a better way until just recently.
I've not used proDAD except for the video stabilization. I'll have to have a look at the RotoPen.

After using Prodad for years, I took up Robert's suggestion and have found Route Generator a really good option.
