Colouring a black-and-white photo

Can anyone tell me how to add color details in a B&W photo with PaintShop Pro 2019 or 2021?

I cannot find it in the manual.

Thank you for the links but they are less usable for me. In the links they all know how to do the job however they don't get the colours they want.

I am a complete layman in this area.

It involves three letters in a black-and-white picture that are grey. I thought I could trace the outline of one such letter and then make it red by clicking on a red colour somewhere in a palette. But it seems to be more complicated with using an extra layer you can start colouring in with a brush.

Isn't there an easier way to add colour accents in a black-and-white photo?
