VideoStudio 2023 causes problems with audio editing

Audio editing remains a problem with VideoStudio. I'll keep reporting it until they wake up.

Often the programme crashes precisely during audio editing

Changing fading times, something I use a lot, is cumbersome, many actions to perform


Volume changes are made properly as long as you are in project mode.

However, after rendering, the volume changes do not appear to be present in the rendered mp4 video file.

The cause appears to be the media player Gom Player. By default, audio normalisation is on there, reducing variations in volume. You can turn this off.

For VS 2023 Ultimate, it seems 3D Editing has some issues too. I noticed that if I restart the product, the defects are reduced. They come back again. It appears to be some issue with the caching of the elements used in the 3D Editor. 2022 Ultimate was not showing as many defects.

The video player Gom Player has by default an automatic volume control that amplifies the soft sounds and mutes the loud ones.

This gives you a wrong sound image that you then try to correct again in VideoStudio and when playing with Gom Player, you can't hear the correction made each time because of this automatic volume control.

You can turn off this default levelling of the audio via Control Panel > Audio > Normalizer: Off
