I've been using Corel software for years and the last time I upgraded was to the Pro 2018 version. After clicking the "Share" tab and clicking the drop-down at the top, there is a "Same as First Video Clip" option, which I often find to be very useful. I'm currently using a trial of the 2023 version and this option seems to be missing. Is there a way to enable it?
I've attached screenshots of the same project in the 2018 version and the 2023 version in case my meaning is unclear.
"Same as First Video Clip" missing from 2023?

Re: "Same as First Video Clip" missing from 2023?
Hi Ted
Welcome to the forums
The problem may be a limitation of the trial version, to be honest that would be unusual/wrong.
What is odd is that the first clip option would normally be greyed out when not available, but your image does not indicate first clip option at all.
Can you try again by starting a new project then inserting the Sample_Lake, you should get a message to match the properties, yes to that, now go Share, is same as first clip available?
As your project properties appear to match the first clip then using that to render would work equally as well as the first clip option.

Ted I can confirm that there is a problem using VS 2023 Trial and Same as First clip option, I am also having issues with the Show Messages.
Using compliant Mpeg2 DVD video files I would expect the Show Messages to be activated yet they just do not work.
I thought at first it may be a digital dolby issue but using LPCM audio has the same issues, using MTS video is ok, its Mpeg2 DVD that seems to have problems

Thank you for answering and for looking into this. In the full version of the software, do you find that the "Same as First Video Clip" option is usually available, and that the other issues you encountered in the trial are resolved?lata wrote: ↑Tue Oct 31, 2023 5:09 pm Hi Ted

Based on what I've seen in the trial, this is one of the main things holding me back from buying an updated version. Although, realistically, the 2018 version does everything I need it to, and actually accomplishes some things more easily than what I've experienced in the 2023 trial version.
I did as you suggested, using the "Sample_Lake" clip and the results were the same. Based on your post update, I understand that you knew this would be the case, but I wanted to be sure to cover all bases before replying.

Re: "Same as First Video Clip" missing from 2023?
Hi Ted
The trial version has always had limitations to its editing options compared to the full version.
However the “same as first video clip” as far as I can remember has always been available when running the trial, so a little surprised to find that option is totally missing.
Depending on the video type / properties the “same as first video” could be greyed out, generally the video using a nonstandard codecs that the program cannot replicate.
I say greyed out, indicates that the “same as first” panel is there, unlike the trial 2023 where it is totally missing, and that is very odd, I would think NOT intentional on Corels part.
Video Studio versions
If you feel 2018 does all you need then the only time I would spend my money is when getting a good deal.
Humble Bundle have an offer package to include PSP, Aftershot, Painter and Video Studio 2023
I have to say Video Studio is the Pro version not the Ultimate as is PEP.

Even so if 2018 does the job for you, stick with that.

Thanks for the tip on the Humble Bundle. I think I'll pick that up. The additional software may be useful too.lata wrote: ↑Fri Nov 03, 2023 5:32 pm Hi Ted
