How to blur static images?

Post by Gerardo »

I'm editing a talk with a presentation. I have to blur a couple of big rectangular images on specific slides for copyright reasons. What's the best option for that on Corel VideoStudio 2023'? I tried Track Motion, but seemed too complicated for static images. I also tried the blur filter, but it blurred the whole screen and not a small portion. How would you do it?

Thank you in advance.

Hi Gerardo
and welcome to the forums
I am sure there are many ways to do this

There is a FX filter called Pixelator, that may do what you want.
If you need to blur a second face you can add pixalator again, make sure Replace Last Filter is deselected

Selective blackout on a static image is simple. Use a background image as a mask overlay that you size as needed.
Target image
Target image
Select background
Select background
Select mask and resize
Select mask and resize

You can then copy the mask and place it on the same or different overlay track then move and resize as needed.

Copy, paste, move, resize
Copy, paste, move, resize
Done!

Thank you both. I had no idea about pixelator; it did the job. I do have a question about it, but it's probably best to ask on a different thread.
