Trouble with Shortcut

Post by shelties »

I had to mess with the mapping when I started getting the script error. I got that fixed but now the shortcut I have for PSPX6 on my desktop turns from the Corel logo into a blank looking sheet of paper when I drag it into the taskbar. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this? It's nothing major but it is annoying.

Hi shelties and welcome back.

You can try right-clicking on the shortcut, then Properties and click on "change icon". Pick one of the icons shown and you should be set.

I did that and it still gives me the paper looking icon on the taskbar.

That's odd, usually works for me. Did you unpin it from the taskbar, make the change and then re-pin it?

It normally works for me also. I even went to the program in my C drive and made a shortcut from there. This all happened after I got rid of the mapping thing. I can live with it but was just hoping I could fix it. Yes, I unpinned it from the taskbar and started from scratch. Just weird. Thank you for trying to help

I have had this happen once or twice, though with other programs. I usually found that a reboot of the computer fixed things. Have your rebooted your computers since this problem appeared?

If that doesn't work, have you tried resetting PSP? With PSP closed, hold down the Shift key when you click on the desktop PSP icon to open it. You should be asked if you want to reset it. Click OK. Make sure you have also saved any customized workspace which otherwise would be lost in the reset. See also https://forum.corel.com/viewtopic.php?p=382795#p382795 for other reset options.

Well, neither one of those fixes helped. LOL. I guess I am just technically challenged. I did the reboot and it didn't work so then I reset PSP like you said and I got a weird workspace. I loaded my workspace I had saved but in the Edit part now the image takes up the whole screen and I have to try and figure out how to get it to be a small image rather than the entire space. I fix one thing and break something else. LOL

Sounds like you are in Tabbed view. Go to the Window menu and un-tick Tabbed Documents.

Yes, Kathy, I was in Tabbed view. I found it and got it fixed. Sometimes you forget how you had it set up originally and it takes a while to figure it out. Thank you for all your help
