Latest build for PSP X8

Post by CaliKat »

I had to reinstall my PSP X8 and I did click for it to automatically update but it seems to me I have a different version than before. I know where to get the updates. What I need to know is what is the latest service pack build for X8? Hours of searching have turned up zero answers to my question. Surely somewhere there is a list that tells us what the latest build is on each PSP version, eg X8, 2018, 2023 etc. so we know if we need to update.

What version number shows when you go to the Help menu in PSP X8 and click on About?

Answering with a question does not seem at all helpful to me and so I wonder why you are asking. I know what version I have but what I need to know is what is the latest version of X8. Nevertheless, since you asked, my version is 18.0.0.124

Providing your build number will tell us if you have the latest version. Based on the updates page there were 3 updates.

The second number gives the number of the update. For example 18.1 would be update 1; 18.2 would be update 2, etc.

I know you are (both) trying to help but I am just finding this confusing. Are you saying that if I have all three updates that my version would be 18.3.0.0? It seems improbable there is no way know how the latest update of X8 would actually read. It would be nice if there were a list somewhere that tells the final build of each version of psp. I don't know why Corel would not have that info on their site.

Yes, thank you, and I will download any needed updates from there. However, nowhere on the page (that I can see) does it tell me what version X8 will be on once each download is installed. Therefore, I have no way of knowing whether I even
need to install any updates. I am guessing that no one here has X8 installed and so maybe that is why no one can answer my question. I know it is an old version but it is one of the best and most stable they have ever made which is why I prefer it and only open newer versions for specific tasks.

Yes, that is what I'm saying and yes, I agree it would be nice if Corel listed the build numbers on the Update page.

Thank you Kathy. On the off-chance I had understood you correctly, I downloaded and installed the updates. Update 1 brought me to 18.1.0.67. Update 2 brought me to 18.2.0.61 and update 3 brought me to 18.3.0.13. And now I know how to check whether I actually have the latest updates on my other versions. Thank you very much.

But there was a situation in past where Pro and Ultimate version of the same PaintShop have a different version number. ;-)
I am glad Corel does't adopt this tendency to much.
