Video Studio 2023 Ultimate Won't open at all

Hi, My Video Studio 2023 Ultimate was running smoothly for months until yesterday 17thOctober 2023. As usual I clicked on the Video Studio Icon on my task bar and .... Nothing happened. I waited for the program to start up. That never happened. Has anyone else out there had this problem? Not only that but I have two other (previous) versions, 2020 and 2022. These will get to the start page Icon only and appear to hang or freeze. I tried several "fixes" from You tube, but they didn't work. In desperation I uninstalled the program (2023) and tried to re-install but that didn't work either. Bombed out with approximately 95% of the program installed. Please see attached screen shots which will give some idea of what I am trying to achieve (I hope).

There was similar reports regarding vs2023 running, i have to say only affected 2023 and fixed itself after a short while, this post refers:-

It is unusual that you are having issues with all versions of video studio. Check your virus protection app is not blocking VS.
Go to the Task Manager, make sure there are no entries for Video Studio, if so End Task for those entries, try launching Video Studio
For 2023 can you try re-installing again, this time use Program and Features followed by running the cleanup tool, download from this post

After viewing your attached image, how are you trying to install the program.
We have to use the installation file and not trying to run the setup.exe

Named VideoSstudio2023.exe (or similar), you can download a copy from this link

Running this file will install video studio.

The following steps which may help you. MAKE SURE you have a backup of all your important files, like video clips and project files.

1. Make sure that all versions of VideoStudio has uninstalled. (Important!)
If you have other Corel's application installed (such as CorelDRAW and PaintShop Pro), it is also recommend to uninstall them all.
After uninstalled them on Control Panel, use the following clean-up tools.

2. Delete the following registry:

4. Make sure the following runtime had installed properly:
Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8 / 4.8.1 (Both versions are OK)
Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2022 Redistributable (x86)
Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2022 Redistributable (x64)

5. Install the application again to see is these steps works.

And if you want to install the application, you can't use "Setup.exe" with Corel Balloon icon and it will not work.

You should have an additional installer, the file name could be "VideoStudio_Install.exe", "VideoStudio2023_Installer.exe" or "VideoStudio2023_Crl.exe".
This additional installer could help you to install the application properly.

Does VideoStudio 2023 need an internet connection to launch? My broadband is down and VSP won’t launch at all.

Where would a find any logs with errors?

Video Studio should run without an Internet connection except for the first launch after installation, where registration is required.
Not sure where log files are saved to, although If you are not getting an error message then no logs would be created

When trying to run the program do you see the splash screen, or nothing happens?

Nothing happens at all. I see the executable in task manager for 10 seconds and then it ends.

I guess I will have to wait till my broadband is fixed and see what happens.

There is a folder 26.0 used as a reset, rename this folder to 26.0_old.
A new folder will be created when launching the program., if it runs.
This will affect the library content.
By re-naming we can always revert back to the original folder

I got an answer from support - which says that internet access IS required to UTILIZE VSP 2023

It is important to be aware that internet access is a prerequisite for both the installation and utilization of the latest version of the program, as indicated in the technical specifications outlined here: https://www.videostudiopro.com/en/produ ... tech-specs

Please see the attached showing the services that run in the background and the reason why Video Studio requires an internet connection to run. The QT bridge and IPP_GMT processes are those used to verify your S/N and account details. Furthermore, these are used to continuously check for updates in the background.

Video Studio will run about three to four times without internet before needing to validate the serial number via an internet connection.

I wonder if that is 3 / 4 days or consecutive starts on the same day.

Nick did you get your internet connection.

I tend to open/close VSP several times when I'm working on a project. Once my internet was back, it launched first time. So it was consecutive, not days.
