Gif Looping

Post by marion64 »

Is there a way to make a gif loop when it's extended beyond its normal length? As far as I know, the only option is to either make the file itself longer or duplicate the clip over and over, and both of those options can be a bit inconvenient.

You mean loop in your timeline, or export to a gif that loops? I normally just hit that copy and paste button, makes applying motion tricky though so you may need to create a sub project.

For the latter, you probably really want a gif editor - alternately you might be able to do that using ffmpeg if you are patient enough to learn how to set it all up to export https://superuser.com/questions/1607099 ... -in-ffmpeg . But I guess you want VS to just loop a clip, which is not a function even for normal media files unfortunately. Try using a sub project where you have pasted the gif for example 10 times over, save it as a VS project, and in the new project drag that project file into your timeline?
