When selecting an option on the vertical left-hand bar , e.g. "cloning", it used to show a sub-menu window in which you could adjust various related parameters such as size and shape of the cloning window (round or square ) or the width of the scratch suppression elongated window... Lately I can no longer see or open this useful sub-menu.
Same for other options on vertical left-hand bar: size of brush, % of transparency ... etc
What went wrong ? How can I restore or open these contextual menus ?
Thanks in advance
lost sub-menus

Hello and welcome to the forum.
It sounds like you are talking about the Tool Options toolbar. To restore go to View - Paletts - and check Tools Options.

Try also:
-> Files -> Preferences -> Reset Preferences -> Check 'Make all toolbars/palettes visible and on screen.
If no success, do a reset:
