Is there anyway to drop a clip down to the next overlay without that clip going ALL THE WAY TO THE BEGINNING?
this is a very frustrating feature having to drag it all the way back to where i was working.
any help would be appreciated thank you (Video studio 19)

Re: Overlay clip moves to the beginning
You need to explain more, clips added to any overlay track can be dragged down to any position on the overlay track required, without it defaulting left, tracks on the main video track can be moved along leaving a gap between clips

Re: Overlay clip moves to the beginning
for example if i'm around the 3 minute mark and i'm copying
a clip and pasting it directly under it (I like to edit the copy before putting it back where it should be) if i try to paste it directly under it, it automatically gets pasted at the very beginning of the overlay.

Re: Overlay clip moves to the beginning
How are you Copy and Pasting the clip?
I right click any clip for Copy
My cursor changes to a hand with a + symbol, I can position the cursor, left click to drop the copy in any position on any timeline.
(There is no Paste option and Ctrl + V does not work)
If I wish to move a clip and not copy I simply drag a clip to the new position.

Re: Overlay clip moves to the beginning
That's the problem I had Trevor, trying to work out exactly how was he was pasting, when that option is only available when copying attributes

Re: Overlay clip moves to the beginning
i click a clip, i right click and click copy, the hand with the plus sign comes up, i position it right under the existing clip on the overlay layer directly below it, i release my mouse and instead of pasting under it, it goes all the way to the begnning

Re: Overlay clip moves to the beginning
Very Strange
Just tried again using 2018 and the copy option works correctly and drops the clip at the cursor position
Unfortunately I do not have 2019 installed on my pc
Post Updated
I have installed VS 2019 and can confirm that the clips do indeed move to the far left to the beginning of the timelines.
a little Surprised that this issue has not been raised in the past.
Please note for me copy clips from the top track has this problem, copy clips from overlay tracks seem to work ok.
As a workround if you drag the clip to the library to create a copy, then drag back to the overlay track will drop in place.
