Re: Edit .ts video keeping subtitles
Hi Old Grey
Been a little busy to check out your video and sub titles.
Found PotPlayer did not extract all subs, even playback did not show the subs?, so used SubTitleEdit as recommended by Robert.
Good little app that extracted all subs, the colour text is not supported by Video Studio so text needed to be removed.
SubTitle Editor has a text replace option so easy to search and remove that. <font color="#ffff00">, 3 bits to remove all done in one go.
Imported the SRT to X9 to line up with the video, found it easier to add a black colour clip to the beginning of the video, increasing that size to nudge the video in line.
There were some duplicate text boxes but only one frame long, I counted 11, a little odd but did not seem to do any harm?

Without spending anything and staying in your comfort zone, I'd say Trevor's method would probably best suit you for editing. One thing I'd like to add, you might want to replace Pot Player with MPC-BE x64 for these reasons below:
The .ts file played perfectly with the colored subtitles and under View>Options>Player>Keys there's a list of all the shortcut keys and you can make custom ones too. Personally I'd just record TV with your DTV card as usual and play everything in MPC-BE x64 without worrying about editing. Toggle On/Off subtitles shortcut is W and I would FF through commercials using shortcut keys. You have these options:
Jump Forward (small) custom
Jump Backward (small) custom
Jump Forward (medium) Right Arrow
Jump Backward (medium) Left Arrow
Jump Forward (large) custom
Jump Backward (large) custom
Jump Forward (keyframe) Shift + Right Arrow
Jump Backward (keyframe) Shift + Left Arrow

Re: Edit .ts video keeping subtitles
Yeah I notice PP is not perfect, ie, I swear the std Win10 player has a sharper image, but PP has so many settings I still kind-of like it. From your previous suggestion I looked up MPC-BE and it does look good.
The stuff I'm not serious about, but leave hanging around in case, I just keep the raw .ts files in a temp folder, but the stuff you want to keep you tend to want to edit and keep neat and tidy.
Currently I'm playing with Linux and VDR - The Video Disk Recorder, but I've totally forgotten how to use Linux since I did a Linux course decades ago - now I remember why I quite, it's way more work to do anything lol -.
It say it can do "Support for editing recordings (with I-frame accuracy: ~1/2 second)", but I'm still to find out what that is because I can't even workout how to load dependant libraries - lol -.
