JPEG EXIF saving behaviour

With the trial PSP would not save EXIF info in progressive mode. Since installing the full version I see it saves EXIF info. Looking I notice the "save EXIF information" box was unchecked and greyed out but now it's checked and greyed out. I previously thought progressive and lossless mode can't save EXIF info and then that the trial version doesn't support it but now I see it does. It's puzzling to me that you can select it but only if you do it in standard mode first and it then stays selected in progressive and lossless mode.
