PSP Pro 2023 Ultimate saving issue.

Post by terrya42 »

I have recently installed 'PSP Pro 2023 Ultimate' after using 'PSP Pro 2018'. I'm having some issues when saving files that I didn't have in 2018. I usually open files by double clicking from the file folder (hardly ever use the file/open menu item).
After opening a file, doing some edits etc. and click Save or Ctrl S (Save, not Save As), it doesn't save over the file in the folder I just opened it from but instead saves a new copy to the last folder I saved any file to, usually unrelated to the file I'm currently using and leaves the file just opened untouched in it's folder. This caused considerable problems until I worked out what was happening as this didn't happen in 2018.
I have had to remember to do a 'Save As' on the very first save and navigate back to the correct folder I just opened the file from and save over the top of the just opened file. After this it then saves subsequent saves to the correct file in the correct location.
Hope I've explained that okay? I've check through settings but can't find anything related to this, and no Idea how stop this from happening so it saves over the just opened file it as previously did in 2018.
Any suggestion would be appreciated, thanks.

Hi, I am having the same problem. I had major issues with the update, and support helped me reinstall 2023. It seemed to be working find, however, it is saving my files in the incorrect directories. First is was saving them to the last folder I saved any file to as you say, but then yesterday it saved it to a directory I had not saved anything to. The only reason I knew this was in the correct directory, my file was not showing my recent updates. I then had to search my system to find the file, and move it to the correct directory. There is also still some merge down issues where I did 3 merge downs in a row, and the 3rd one turned the layer black. So I am not using merge down right now. This is causing me so much extra work, to remember to save as, and not do save. Before the update and reinstall, I never had this issue, and I don't have it in PSP 2021

What images format you open up and what file format you save?
