I currently have a 2min 30 second video and I need to reduce the published filesize so it can be sent via FB Messenger - the size limit is 25mb. I'd like it to be a common format which most system will be able to play.
Alongside still photos, my video contains video clips which have been sent to me to include within it.
I've setup my own settings as below but it's still coming out at around 50mb.
Any suggestions please?
MPEG-4 Files
24 bits, 640 x 480, 30 fps
Frame-based
H.264 Main Profile Video: 2500 Kbps, 16:9
24000 Hz, 16 Bit, Stereo
MPEG AAC Audio: 96 Kbps

Why use FB Messenger? Just use a free download service such as WeTransfer.

Re: Reduce published file size
Upload it to YouTube in the highest possible quality and set its visibility to either unlisted or private if you can't set it to public. You then only need to share the URL with your friends and YT will stream it at a suitable resolution.Killer133 wrote: I currently have a 2min 30 second video and I need to reduce the published filesize so it can be sent via FB Messenger - the size limit is 25mb. Re: Reduce published file size
Thanks for these suggestions but I need to have the file size smaller, not a workaround. The users are not familiar with other ways of working and wouldn't be capable (there are such people out there).
Any other suggestions to get the filesize smaller?

Re: Reduce published file size
What version of Video Studio are you using as that may determine what settings are available
The data rate most affects the files size, it also reduces quality.
Reducing the data rate from 2500kbps to 2000kbps may help, you may have to go lower.
You could try 1280 x 720 x 30 fps 2000kbps.
I think mpeg4 would be the best option, you could try changing the video type to H.264.Baseline or H.263 to allow a lower data rate

Re: Reduce published file size
Render the highest quality video in VS and then use a video transcoder, e.g. HandBrake, to transcode it into the size that you need.Killer133 wrote: I need to have the file size smaller

Re: Reduce published file size
Thanks everyone for your suggestions, it's much appreciated. None of the options within VS would make the file size as small as I wanted so I used Replay Converter and it reduced it to 11.5mb
