Cannot delete file/folder after editing in PSP 2023

Hi,

I open an image that's in folder number 1. I edit the image and save it in another folder that's inside folder number 1. Then I click on the X on the image tab to close it. After that, the Editing screen in PSP is empty.

When I want to move that folder somewhere else, it says: “This action cannot be completed because the folder or file in it is open in another program”. I just closed the image in PSP, so it's not open anymore.

When I close PSP, I can move the folder. That's a lot of a hassle because it takes quite a long time for PSP to open.

What can I do so that I am able to move (or delete) the file/folder?

When that happens to me I use the free LockHunter by Crystal Rich to unlock the file. The option to unlock a file in the folder is in the context menu of the file.

You should start receiving email notifications. The forum default is set to not send them. I have changed that for you in your profile preferences.

Great Jimmi. I've been using it for many years along with some of their other apps and found it a useful app to have on hand.

It would be great, though, if PSP unlocks it when the image is closed…
