Shift Button
Now, if I press the play button why must I press shift/play to play the whole clip? What a nuisiance! Can that be eliminated-VS 2023?

Hi
By any chance do you have the Project Range set, an orange line will show at the top of the timelines.
If so then selecting play will only play the Project Range, Shift will allow us to play the entire project.
to fix this you should remove the project playback range

Unfortunately, there is no orange line on top of the time line.
