I'm in the process of evaluating Pinnacle Studio 9, Adobe Premiere Elements, and Ulead VideoStudio. I think that VideoStudio 9 is by far the easiest to use, and that Premiere is by far the hardest. However, only Premiere allows the use of importing MP3s, in fact ANY audio file, into their software. Ulead and Pinnacle do not. Why is this?? I happen to have a few thousand MP3s in my collection and don't relish the fact that I have to convert any of these I wish to use over to a WMA or WAV format. In fact, I don't even have software to do that. Which means I have to spend more money??? If Ulead plans to offer a patch or upgrade to VideoStudio 9 to allow for MP3s, I'll stick with it. Or if there is some freeware product that would allow me to easily batch convert MP3s into other formats, that might also suffice. Otherwise, I'll have to go with Adobe. Please let me know...
Thanks,
Bob

Bob,
If you opt to register (i.e.; purchase) Pinnacle Studio Plus, the first time you attempt to use an MP3 in your project you'll automatically be taken to a web page where an unlimited 3-in-1 plugin (MPEG-4, MP3 and Dolby 5) can be activated $10. I believe this feature is disabled in the trial version due to licensing issues.
