The file properties say AVI Video File (VLC) (avi) , I have saved it to Library in videostudio, but it is just a black screen playing?

Re: Avi or VLC files
Windows can set the default program to open when clicking a file, I suspect you have VLC set as the default program for this type of video file
From Windows Explorer, your folder, double click should open using VLC.
If importing to Video Studio it shows as black then it is most likely a codec issue, one that Video Studio does not like / support
Being CCTV it may have a low frame rate, possibly variable which VS does not like, I would suspect the CCTV codec.
Try using a small app called Media Info that will scan and show the files full properties.
even so you may have to convert the video to a format that VS can handle.
