New user. I am trying to figure out how to insert multiple images onto a blank canvas. I do not want the images to overlap. I can get the blank canvas and I can upload images into the Corel program. But I cannot get it to let me load multiple images onto a blank canvas. This was an incredible easy INSERT function on Adobe Photoshop. But I can't seem to find it in PaintShop Pro 2023. I have looked through the user manual. I have tried Corel chat support and phone support. The tutorials they keep giving me are for blend or merge functions whereby you take part of one picture (like a person) and insert that into another picture. But that is not what I'm trying to do. I've tried searching this topic on this forum and using a google search and also come up blank (usually, google results just tell you how to upload a photo into Corel).
One possible solution that might work if it wasn't always greyed out is EDIT, Paste As New Image. But all my attempts to use this so far have failed because it stays greyed out.
Thanks for any help.

Re: Insert multiple images onto a blank canvas
Paste requires that you copy first. Open an image, Edit -> Copy. Go to blank image and Edit -> Paste as New Layer. Is the traditional way, not the only way but the traditional one.
You can also use the common shortcut keys that all programs use. Ctrl + C on the image you want to copy, Ctrl + V on the destination image.
It's exactly like those tutorials except you don't make a selection first.
Another way is to literally drag and drop from your hard drive directly onto the blank canvas. PSP will open as new layer for you.
You can also use the Open As Layer script found here - https://forum.corel.com/viewtopic.php?p ... er#p330214
This script open the open dialog and and all images you select are opened as new layers in the current image.

Re: OpenAsLayer
Thanks. That explains it. For anyone else starting out, after you get your image onto the blank canvas, hitting SELECT and then SELECT ALL will let you move the image around on the canvas. If you try to do it by dragging the cursor from one corner of the image to the other corner and then moving the image, you're likely to end up with about 98% of the image and the remaining 2% will be annoyingly left in the original (centered) position.

Re: OpenAsLayer
You've replied to my OpenAsLayer script, please return to your topic and reply there. Also, just because I'm already replying, I have great news for you, you don't need to make a selection at all to copy the image. PSP, if there is no active selection, just assumes you want to copy the entire layer you have selected. So you've added an unnecessary step. My instructions were to just hit Copy, not make a selection.

Re: Insert multiple images onto a blank canvas
I'm adding a clarifying point here. In Photoshop you had to use Select All to copy data to the clipboard. But you don't need to do that in PSP. In PSP, if you don't have an active selection, you can just CTRL + C and it'll copy the entire selected layer. So you can avoid that extra step with PSP.

You can also use drag and drop.
