MysticThumbs problem

Post by arturox »

Good day folks.
During some work I was doing with PSP (Another thread Silhouette) I became aware that my MysticThumbs was not working correctly, in that it should be showing a thumbnail of the files image and not of some other image, a hard disk icon.

Anyway after some more bother, I uninstalled it and reinstalled from a new .exe which went okay.

But my PSP file icons are now just showing a blank rectangle instead of the image inside the file as they used to do.

So I've obviously lost a setting in MysticThumbs and I can't remember what...

Can any kind person please advise?

Thanks
Ax

MysticThumbs is up-to-date and paid for. (Shame the UI is such a mess). :-(

I've never used Mystic Thumbs so I'm of no help there. However, I do use an older free utility, PSP Thumbnail Handler by Bot Productions, that works quite well.

Maybe it just takes some time for the new exe to scan your images.

I Closed down the machine, went away for some lunch and other jobs, came back and ran the computer, and while the older PSP files were still blanks, (And still are) However, the new PSP files I've created this afternoon are showing the thumbnail images of the content okay.

I guess after a clean reinstall the MysticThumbs thumbnail cache needs re-populating... Or some such stuff.

I have a vague recollection from the past (I could well be wrong) There's no way to force MysticThumbnails to scan and rebuild a cache. :-(

Anyway, I'm now sorted.
Thanks

The Thumbnail Cache is run by the OS, not Mystic Thumbs and sometimes it does become corrupt.
MT does have a Clear Cache button in its Control Panel. It has always been there....see screenshot
Here is the Help page link for it.

I don't know about these days but Ian, the developer of the app, used to give excellent support. Your license does need to be current.
