Do I need a new computer if I want to render HD video? I am using X8 as noted after my computer specs.
The properties of the video I am editing.
Video Type: MPEG-2 Video, Upper Field First
Attributes: 24 bits, 1920 x 1080, 16:9
Frame rate: 29.970 frames/sec
Data rate: 13706 kbps
Audio type: Dolby Digital
Attributes: 48000 Hz, 5.1 Channels
Layer: None
Bit rate: 384kbps
When I place the video into the video track, I don't get the message when first inserting the clips into the timeline. I have that preference selected and tried multiple times to have it appear, including restarting my computer. However, I often don't see it appear even when editing SD video. In terms of editing, all I am doing is removing some of the beginning and the end of the video. When saving the project, I had tried using both HDV and AVCHD formats. In Share I tried "same as project settings" and "same as first video clip". I tried with and without smart render enabled. Each time X8 just closes before even getting to 1%.

Re: Unable to render HD video
Have you tried another HD file? Zoom recording .mp4 or online convert a YouTube file to try. If VSX8 can't handle those .mp4 low bitrates it might be your computer.

Re: Unable to render HD video
Hi
The show messages does not always appear especially if the properties are already set.
First check the Project - Properties Settings, are they as your video properties
When you do Share - Same as Project, what are the Properties used.
Try this:-
Start a new project to clear the timelines.
Settings Project Properties, choose DVD 16:9 and ok to that.
File New project
Now insert your MTS video to the top timeline, you should now get the message.
I doubt that the settings would cause the crash, it should render even if the settings are incorrect.
Have you use any other files as a start / introduction/ instant project etc.????
If there is no problems with the project...
I would try resetting the library, first export library as a copy.
Then reset the program
And if needed re-install the program
