hello, ive come back to psp after a number of years and I must say it is looking pretty sharp. My only complaint is so many color palettes/swatches. Do we really need a violin palette? I got to scroll scroll scroll (and scroll some more on my surface pro) before I finally get down to my palettes. Is there a way to remove or unload them? I'm a websomic artist and I'm 90% sure I finally found something I can color with that has the features I'm looking for without a huge pricetag attached. Plus it's a great photo editing software. I know there are many free software like gimp the lag boat and paint.net the pain but so far psp is doing it for me. Although it is slow to save so I can't win them all.
So, can anyone tell me how to remove/hide all the color palettes?
When did psp become swatch city? Too many color palettes!

Other options would be ClipStudio Paint (paid Subscription) or Krita (Free).
So these color Swatch "palettes" are folders in the "Swatches" folders inside PSP. If you wish to get rid of them there are two ways: 1) Tell PSP not to look in the folder where they are or 2) Delete/rename the folder where they are so PSP can't find them. You'd rename the folder if you didn't want to delete all of the swatches.
Either way, first find where they are. File -> Preferences -> FIle locations. THen choose "Swatches" from the category list on the left. You'll see all of the places PSP is storing and looking for resources. The Swatches folder is usually stored in the ProgramData folder and it's not called "Swatches" there it's called "Corel_14". e.g. C:\ProgramData\Corel\Corel PaintShop Pro 2023\Corel_14
From here you can either just remove the folder from the list, or you can go to that location on your harddrive and delete the subfolders.
What I did, personally, was I moves all of the subfolders from that location into my person "Swatches" folder under my Documents folder. C:\users\YOURUSERNAME\Documents\Corel PaintShop Pro\2023\Swatches. Then I could use the palette management inside PSP to delete or edit these swatches.
On the materials palette next to the drop-down list is a white button that vaguely looks like a drop-down menu, if you hover over it it'll say "More Options" This is the management which lets you rename, load, add, delete swatches. But only your personal swatches. Which is why I moved them into my personal folder because some of them I like.

thank you, now they are more manageable and I can later pick and chose the ones I want to keep when I get a chance. I'll look into krita, I've seen some wonderful things. But im familiar with psp from back in the day and it has both raster and vector elements. I just wish it could resize as nicely as illustrator.
