Video file names change upon import into VideoStudio
Hello Everyone. I am using Corel VideoStudio Pro. I imported 150 video files clips into my project, and the file names of each video clip changed upon importing. This makes it hard for me to put the clips on the timeline in the order that I had planned, because now I have to watch each clip to know what it is (instead of reading the clip name). Is there a way to maintain the same file names upon importing? Thank you.

Re: Video file names change upon import into VideoStudio
Hello
And welcome to the forums
Very strange......
What version of Video Studio are you using and how are you importing the files to Video Studio.
I assume your video files are on your hard drive.
Several ways to insert your video files, I find a right click on the timeline for Insert Video is as good as any, can also be done from the library.
We can also drag and drop video files from Windows explorer onto the timelines.
Both of these methods will / should retain the original file names.

It would also be useful to know the Properties of the incoming video and how they were filmed in the first place. Right click one of the clips inside VideoStudio and give us the Properties or take a screenshot of the Properties box and post it here as an Attachment.
What were the clips called when they were first filmed, and did you change them at that time, or assign a different name as part of the capture process? What are they called now?

Re: Video file names change upon import into VideoStudio
I mentioned Drag and Drop from Windows Explorer.
If we select multiple clips then drag the selection make sure you drag the first file, as the one we drag becomes the first to be placed on the timeline / library, does mess up the sequence a little..
