I am currently evaluate PSP 2020 and how to setup layout. Some questions:
1.) Assume I set in View-->Workspace Color=Light Grey
Then I click on "Manage" button at the top. I guess PSP is switching to an Organizer view with View--->Workspace color=Dark grey
If I revert now to previous view by clicking "Edit" button the workspace color remains at dark grey instead of switching back to Light grey.
Why? How can I keep workspace color which I set for "Edit"?
I will never use the "Organizer" view. Can I disable it and hide the button?
Similarly it would be great to hide the Home/Welcome button too
2.) The window borders of PSP are wider than the borders of all other windows on my windows 10 system. I guess 4 pixels width.
How can I make the borders as thin (1 pixel row) as in all the other windows?
3.) I need as much space for the picture editing as possible. Therefore I would like to omit the "tab" row at the top which shows all currently open images.
How can I hide/disable the tab toolbar?
In case I have multiple images open I would like to switch via "window" menu
Thank you

1) I always use Dark Grey so I never checked. I just tried it and for me it stays Light Grey if I change it to light grey in Edit mode. You could try setting the color space in Manage mode to be light grey as well. And see if it changes when moving back to EDIT. But I will say I'm on 2023 so I don't know if this was a bug that was fixed later or just a quirk that I can't duplicate.
You can turn off the manage tab by going to File -> Preferencs -> General Preferences. Selecting "Tabs" from the properties list and unchecking "Manage". The home tab is not disable-able. But see answer three.
2) You can't. But just to make sure, are you talking about the child windows if you turn off "Tabbed Documents" under the "Window" menu? Those are styled using the defaults by the library that PSP used when developing the software. They haven't styled those windows and so there's not much if anything to be done as it's hardcoded.
3) You can only fully omit the tabs at the top by going full screen. View -> Full Screen. Or SHIFT + A. It gets rid of the entire titlebar of the app. But otherwise, the title bar and the Edit/Home tabs are there and there's no removing them.

@LeviFiction.
Thank you. Most of my questions are answered.
However regarding the border width: I am NOT talking about the child windows but the PSP window itself. See the attached snapshot with the red arrows.
Really no way to get rid of it (=shrink it to 1 pixel width)?
I cannot believe that
So PSP must use a really exotic development tool. Almost all other programs I use have a border width of 1 (or allow switch to a width of 1)
....and one more customization question:
Can I replace the very ugly (default) toolbar icons? They are so primitive, colorful and unstylish. They seems to be from a public domain, amateur icon library from the 90ies of last century.

Re: Cutomize PSP 2020: "Manage" button, thin border, hide tabs of open files?
If you hit the maximize button it goes away, if you full screen it goes away. I know of no other option. And the API library would only need to be old not exotic. They've customized the UI and not given an option for that border size. If it can be changed it'll be in the registry using values I'm unaware of.
They have grey versions of those icons you go to View -> Customize and select the 'Options" tab you'll see a checkbox for color icons. Uncheck that and they go greyscale. Only the color is removed, it doesn't change their design.
There is no official way to change those icons. I will say that there are a series of PNGs that look exactly like the Icons C:\Program Files\Corel\YOURVERSION OF PSP\Data\X1\ X1 should be for regular pixel density screens, while X2 is for higher density like 4K. I did try editing one of these but it seemed to make no difference even after clearing caches. So I'm uncertain if it's possible to change these files to change the icons but it's the best clue I have.
