Rotating 3D objects

Post by Airone »

Some years ago I made with Videostudio some movies with rotating 3D objects and images on each face.

Image

Today I wanted to get the same effects again, but I couldn't find anything close to them. It was probably some addons back then, but I can't figure out which one. Could you help me?
Thank you. Raoul

Many years ago Corel did provide a program called Motion Studio 3D, previously called Cool3D.
That program would do what you describe

The software has not been supported for a long time and no longer available to purchase.

If you do own a copy then it should install on Win 10, although is limited in its export options as no longer supports export to video studio, but does create video files, mpeg4 and avi, I believe.

Hello Trevor,
thank you for reply. I still have all versions of Videostudio from X5 to the latest, but since they are all .exe files I find it difficult to understand where to find Cool3D in these. However I find it strange that such an effect has been completely forgotten, especially today that computers have a much higher processing speed than 15-20 years ago, and we no longer have to wait for the long rendering times of the past. Although I shouldn't ask here, but are there other products that allow you to achieve these effects?
Thanks again. Raoul

Motion Studio 3D is a separate program to Video Studio.
Previously known as Cool3D, It depends on how far back you go.

Motion Studio 3D is no longer supported by Corel / Alludo.

If you go to your Corel account you can access your programs to see if the MS3D is listed.
Otherwise I do not know how you would have created the rotating effect

wow Raul you blasted me more than 25 years ago when I made a demo with such cube, just 10 seconds SD video took many hours to render with early Pentium. I used VideoAction back then.
I don't think VS ever did so, maybe a with a plugin.

*I'm not at home and I have here just a mini celron system, but I could install the very old but very good wax2.0e freeware
wax2.0e.jpg
I played with it way way back, for compositing.

VSX4 was the only version that had a Motion Studio 3D plugin, I still have MS3D installed and use it occasionally

I used to love MS3D and for a long time used it often. But it was very slow -- it usually took around an hour to share a 10 second title, though admittedly that was on a much older and slower computer than I currently use. I was also increasingly attracted to the speed of using the excellent and editable titles provided in each version of VS. So I haven't now used MS3D for at least 6 or 7 years...

Thank you all for the advice and for the "Back to the past". I also spent a lot of time waiting for the video renderings to finish, most of the time I left the computer on during the night and the next day I checked the result: there was always something to redo.
@Asik1, I saw the link and as soon as I can I do some tests with this software, hoping it works with W11.

Thanks again. Raoul

FWIW I downloaded Wax this morning on my Win 11 machine, and so far it seems to work... It even provides plug-ins for other NLE software, at least one of which no longer exists. And the only other one I have in this category is Vegas. But so far I have not been able to find where it might be hiding there if in fact it was installed correctly.
