Text masks with text that grows and shrinks are just not easy at all somehow. Any clues of a way?
Tap the mask button tap text mask, double-click in the edit area and type in
"this is a video title"
notice how the spaces between words are really tiny
try to compensate by adding loads of spaces until it looks better
then increase the text size drastically from around 100point to 400 point
notice how you now have to add fake spaces all over again.
Is there a workaround for this? is there perhaps a non-breaking space character people use instead? I know it's probably truetype and not non-proportional fonts, but anyone found a workaround to speed up things when using text masks? It means I cannot animate the text size because the spaces don't change with the text consistently, the editor seems to think it can add line-breaks too when the text box wont fit on screen, that's just weird, because if I want a really large mask or marquee mask, VS fights me and makes my lower thirds mask banner have carriage returns?

Re: Text Mask tool space character width wrong
I've tried to also do text using the normal text tool and change it's size drastically and then see if I can export then convert that to a mask later, but I'm getting the same unexpected problems with the way VS lets us add text and control it having arbitrary limits that make big text just hard to wrangle. VS also crashes when you use the extreme extents of custom motion sizing on any really large dimension picture files. Thanks in advance.

Re: Text Mask tool space character width wrong
Yes I see the same problem, I assume because it's a mask editor and not a text editor
Even so I would have thought it would be able to manage the spaces correctly..
I think you should report this to Alludo Support, whether they will address this? But at least they wiĺĺ be aware of the problem.

Re: Text Mask tool space character width wrong
Thanks, I got around to it finally made a ticket :
Corel #4143290: Text Masks have hard codes space width
At least I managed to work around it by using a bitmap mask in the end.
