Pattern Not Showing

I hope I can explain this correctly.
When I have a pattern that is open but not installed it is supposed to show up as the first pattern under the pattern setting.
Mine does not. I am using psp 2019 but it happens in psp 2022 as well.

You probably already did this, but when you click on patterns, do you scroll to the top? I don't know why but mine always opens part way down the list of patterns and not at the top.

Mine seem to show in Patterns in the order they were opened e.g. if I opened the file I want to use as a pattern last then it will be last in the list of open files, before the normal folder patterns show. For me, it would be rare for the pattern file to show first as I would normally open other files before it. All open files will show in Patterns.

I will try that. Strange, in psp 2019 the open image shows first.

I think I have it fixed. I had too many sub-folders so I deleted some after moving the contents. So far, so good.
