adjusting color of a single object within a picture

Post by bifrostfarms »

PSP 2022

This seems so obvious but all I can find in tutorials is changing the colors using Red/Green/Blue, and that adjusts the entire picture.

The problem is a jacket my husband is wearing. It is actually a dark black/blue but in the picture it is brown!! Which is weird because his hat is black and it came out correctly. Is there a way to select just that jacket and adjust to the black with very slight blue tone?

Thank you,
Meg

Hi Meg and welcome to the forum.

You can select his jacked with the smart selection tool and then use the color changer (nested under the flood fill). If you need further instruction, let us know.

I tried to recreate what you did there. Can you please share the size and tolerance settings you used with the smart select? Thank you so much. I'm going from PSP 7 to 2022, so it's a learning curve. :)

Here are the settings for the smart selection brush.

Note: I needed to edit the selection as part of the table & silverware were picked up due to being a similar color in the original image.
