Opening PSP 2023 Images With Version 2018

Is this normal?
Image created and saved as .pspimage using 2023.
2018 will not open it using Manage Tab (that shows a gray box) or from the directory using Windows "Open With" PSP 2018.

Thank you!!! Oh gosh, that's embarrassing! I always use "Save As" so I can double-check the file type, or "Export" as .png.
I have never used just Save. Seems like a no-brainer now that I know it's a setting and where it is located. I should have added that question to my Settings topic.
