Filters Unlimited 2 Fatal Error Database Not Found

Post by misdonna »

Hello Everyone!
This is my first post so I hope I don't mess up too much.
I used my I.C.net Software Unlimited 2.0 all the time but one day it wasn't there. I tried to import some plug ins I had and I tried to get my filters by adding the regular way thru Preferences, Location and then Add.
The message keeps telling me there is FATAL ERROR no database. This was both in PSP 22 and PSP 9 JASC. don't know what or how to get it back. I've uninstalled and reinstalled. I've run my virus and malware programs. This is is less than a year old computer. I paid a lot of money to have it custom made for a lot of stuff. I can't afford to buy another but its not the computer.
I am having a lot of trouble with a "Memory Access Violation" error and now a lot of plugs ins are not working, it just comes up with that warning. Am I able to get this database back?
I will be posting on a different post since that is connected to the problems I've been having. Thank you so much for taking the time.

Hello Misdonna and welcome to the forum.

I'm a little confused as first you stated your Filters Unlimited wasn't there but then you said you tried to import filters into it.

I have Filters Unlimited 2 installed but I'm by no means an expert at it. I am able to use it on the 32-bit version of PSP with no issues but if I happen to click on the database button PSP instantly crashes. At one time I was able to click the database button and add, delete or switch databases but no longer. However, when using Filters Unlimited in Photoshop Elements 9 I can click on database with no issues.

As far as the "memory access violation" this is something that started in PSP 2021 with some, but not all 32-bit plug-ins. Which plug-ins are giving the access violation and do you get it in the Jasc 9 version as well?

Hi Kathy!
I thought if I tried importing or sending stuff to "Unlimited 2.0" I.C Net maybe that would open something up but no go....says I do not have a database and whatever PSP corel I try, i get the same message.
As for the Memory Access Violation error, I am getting it in all my psp versions/programs .... Vanderlee and AP Silverlining and a few more. Some work, some shuts down the program and some shows "Memory Access Violation" That didn't start until that malware was on my desktop. I never had that problem before.

I'm stumped. The memory access violation is a known issue with some 32-bit plug-ins with PSP2021 but I am at a loss as to why you are getting it on older versions of PSP.

Here's the discussion on PSP2021 https://forum.corel.com/viewtopic.php?p=387606#p387606 This thread has a list of plug-ins that are known to have an issue.

You mentioned in your original post that you uninstalled and reinstalled; was that PSP or Filters Unlimited? And, if it was PSP that you uninstalled and reinstalled, did you use the cleanup tool afterwards? https://forum.corel.com/viewtopic.php?t=52337

Also, before uninstalling and reinstalling, did you try resetting PSP2021 to default? https://forum.corel.com/viewtopic.php?t=52337

Hi Kathy
No I did not do most of those things you mentioned but I sure will. It was the PSP program/all different versions that I uninstalled and reinstalled but I did not do a clean up and I'm pretty sure I put it on default but I'll try again.

Ive never had an issue with my plug ins and the ones I did, I put in the IC Net Unlimited 2.0 and they worked. I don't have a data base now. How in the world can I get that back? I even downloaded a new link from Corel for psp and installed it....same thing. Something is affecting all my psp programs.......... Trying new ones does not help.

Thanks for your help. I'll be in touch!

The Filters Unlimited people seem to have closed up shop but you can download a fresh copy to see if that helps by giving you a database. There is a link on Cassel's Scrapbook Campus. Here is a link https://scrapbookcampus.com/2017/10/fea ... mited-2-0/
