Wavy video when loading clips into Videostudio

Post by aquascapefishimports »

I have several video clips from my camcorder that play fine on Windows Films and TV or PowerDVD but when I load the clips into Videostudio 2022 pro and play them they have a wavy effect to them. They are .MTS files 25fps 1440x1080. Any ideas how I solve this?

25fps - did you check the project settings, if project is not 25fps it might do that to you. CS prompts you when you drop your fist clip into timeline to use the clip properties for the project. That's maybe a help? Pretty sure there are threads about this technology area, I don't have a camcorder or ever do 25fps, so know little about it other than how it is a great way to recreate the "movie" feel in your audience if you can get it right.

zaphodikus -- there is nothing special about 25 fps. That (and 50 fps) are standard frame rates for those of us who live in PAL countries, rather than NTSC countries where 29.97 (or 30) and 60 fps are the norms. The 'special' or cinematic/"movie" frame rate is 24 fps and that seems to cause some people a variety of problems. But the original poster is not saying he uses 24 fps.

Ah you learn a new thing, 24 frames not 25 for cinema-film. I only use NTSC all my days, very unadventurous.

I hope you can come right aquascapefishimports. Is it perhaps possible to share a clip that does this with the audience - also might want to tell us what the actual "media properties" videostudio reports for your troublesome clips so we can learn which codecs were used.
