Shalom!!
Just joined the forums!! Have few questions please
I own Paint Shop Pro Ultimate X2, X4, X6, and X9. Just installed X9 few days ago into my new 64 bit laptop with Windows 10 Pro. The installation of X9 automatically gave me two installed X9 programs which are 32 bit and 64 bit versions of PSP X9 which I find it cool especially both programs remember each other's edited works.
However I am very dependable on KPT Collection, Nik Software, and VanDeLee effects for my editing which is why I still stick with X4 version. Although those effect add ons work well on 32 bit version of X9 version, I just discovered that they do not work on 64 bit version of X9. My question is that is there any 64 bit version for those effect add ons: KPT Collection, Nik Software, and VanDeLee??
The other question is that when I use X9 in my laptop and activate lens section of KPT Collections, the functions and preview screen (even I asked for larger) on the KPT Collection are SO TINY on my laptop's 16 inch screen. How do I enlarge so that I can see the functions and preview screen??
The final question is that does the new PSP version 2023 come with installation of BOTH 32 and 64 bit versions just like X9? Does PSP version 2023 accept Photoshop CS 5.1 brushes, plugins, and any add ons?? Can PSP version 2023 do realistic looking water reflections with and without ripples?
Thank to anyone who might provide answers.
Regards,
Aharon

Re: Question Abouut KPT Collection In Conjunction With PSP X9
KPT is 32-bit only. They aren't actively developing or producing them so there has been no 64-bit version developed. I don't know about VanDeLee. And I believe newer NIK software would have 64-bit versions, but the ones that were released with Corel PSP Ultimate editions I think were only 32-bit. There are scripts on the Scripting Sub-forum for running the stand-alone versions of the NIK software like they were plugins if you wanted to give them a try.
KPT was made a loooong time ago so they aren't designed for large screen resolutions. The best you can do is what's built into the window. And I haven't used KPT in such a long time. Which of the KPT functions do you use? Would be curious if you've looked at new plugins that offer similar functionality.
PSP 2023 is 64-bit only. I don't know about Photoshop brush version compatibility. You can always download the trial and test for yourself on that point. Almost any 64-bit photoshop plugin should work just fine with PSP 2023 but do test. And I don't believe PSP has added any such dedicated water effects since X9, so it'd have the same level of ability as X9 as far as that is concerned. But with a little work on your side it's definitely doable.

Thanks for your kind answers. The most important function I use out of KPT Collections is KPT Lensflare which I use to create green beacons, red beacons, and white or yellowish headlights as seen on example of this screenshot below where you can see red beacon and yellowish headlightsLeviFiction wrote: ↑Wed May 03, 2023 8:50 pm Which of the KPT functions do you use? Re: Question Abouut KPT Collection In Conjunction With PSP X9
You could test the Plugin Bridge from Mediachance which allows 32 bit plugins to work in PSP 64 bit. I just tested KPT Lens Flare in PSP 2023 64 bit and it worked. It is a retail Plugin but the trial is fully working and just adds a watermark to the image. It works with many old PSP 32 bit filters including FF filters imported into Filters Unlimited, EC etc.. It does have issues with some FM filters.Aharon Dayan wrote: ↑Wed May 03, 2023 9:05 pmThanks for your kind answers. Re: Question Abouut KPT Collection In Conjunction With PSP X9
Patara,
Your idea looks interesting and I looked at Mediachance's product which I like. But it looks too difficult for me to install and use it in conjunction with 64 bit version of PSP Ultimate X9 and PSP Ultimate 2023.
Would you know easy instructions for that, please?? I am always dependable on KPT Collections, Nik Software, and VanDeLee effects for my editing which is why I still stick with X4 version. This month, I decided to be brave to install Ultimate Pro X9 version that I bought years ago and to try out 30 day trial of PSP 2023 not knowing that KPT Collections, Nik Software, and VanDeLee effects will not work in 64 bit X9 and PSP 2023 (I thought any 32 bit software can work in 64 bit software).

Aharon

Re: Question Abouut KPT Collection In Conjunction With PSP X9
I have no experience with Plugin Bridge so I can't answer that question; however, X9 has both a 32-bit and 64-bit version so your KPT will work in the 32-bit version. There is no 32-bit version of PSP2023 so you would need the plugin bridge for that.
PSPX9 | PSP2020 | PSP2021| PSP2022 | PSP2023 & PhotoMirage installed; PSPX | PSPX2 thru PSP2019 owned but not installed

Aharon, I didn't find it difficult. It is a normal install file which installed in Program Files in the folder PluginBridge. Inside the folder is the plugin file so you can direct PSP to find it via the PSP menu File/Preferences/File Locations/Plugins.
When you open PSP and have an image open, go to the Plugin via Effects/Plugins/Mediachance. The interface will show an option to Add Single Plugin or to Search in Folders. I suggest you choose the first option as I found by using Search in Folders it added all my Plugins, some one filter at a time and the only way I can find to remove them is one filter at a time. So based on that I think better to just add the Plugins you want via Add a Single Plugin button. I noticed all the KPT Plugins were added one by one.
Once that is done the filters appears in the left list and you choose the one you want e.g. KPT Lens Flare and click on Run. KPT Lens Flare will open and you would use it and then when done click on the tick and it will close and your flare will be in your image.
The Plugin has a full working trial so you can try it out for free. It does place a watermark on the image.
On their main web page for it it shows photos of the steps I gave and in the screenshot it showed a KPT plugin.
