Uninstalling VS Pro X9

Post by DayO »

I just upgraded from VS Pro X9 to VS Pro 2023 after my X9 continually failed to start up--I didn't have time for any kluging fiddle-faddle what with looming Project deadlines...

Can I uninstall my X9 version OK without adversely affecting my previously-created .VSP videos?

I'm running under Windows 10 Pro.

Thanks in advance for any responses!

Generally, VS2023 will open your X9 VSPs, however, you may encounter compatibility issues if your X9 projects included clips where you've made speed adjustments. There also maybe some others issues. Hence if your X9 projects must open, then either you ought to check that all these projects open in VS2023, or keep X9 installed.

Unless you have issues like not having enough space on your computer, you might want to consider leaving X9 on your computer for a while. It won't affect the operation of VS 2023. A lot of use keep various versions of VS and for various reasons. But each are full versions, even those you pay the upgrade price for. At the very least it might be useful if you have problems in VS 2023 with earlier projects. Then you could always revert to X9 if it is still on your computer.
