Ticker news scroller [solved]
Anyone know how to make a title scroll like a news ticker tape, a bit lower thirds type thing that just runs right to left in a long row, but is not a real pita to edit the text in by making it one long line and manually poking a motion effect and struggling to add pauses manually and break it up into one effect per scentence?

Re: ticker news scroller
There is a tutorial "Creating a Lower Thirds Animation in VideoStudio" in the Corel Discovery Center. IT should get you started
You can also find tutorials if you google search for Boris Grafitti Lower Thirds

Re: ticker news scroller
Thanks all. Perseverance pays.
So my original idea is pretty much the only way. I have a really long message, so to edit the message I have to manually move the message left and right, make changes and then move it back to the start position. I was hopeing to avoid doing that scrabbling left and right. At least I can save the preset and try to break the message into shorter scrollers to make it easier to fix typos. Also a lot easier if I pre-write everything in MS word, to check it, instead of trying to just add in the VS Editor and hope I make no miskates.
(I used to have a few Boris Graffiti in a older VS, but I guess I lost the install binaries at some point. Do the old plugins still work in 2023?)

Re: ticker news scroller
Sure you must edit in text editor before VS
XP's MovieMaker 2.1 has built in scroller, I believe it has characters limit
** I just made a test, 3909 characters, one liner scroll in VS2020.
Even as VS looks hang, so I let it "do its thing" after I paste such long line and it survived the test.
I did same test in Vegas pro19, it's more complicated.

@asik1 you are a real help
Thanks for that test - I have updated the thread title now, we probably should all start doing that in future to make searches a bit better.

I believe the hanging I had with VS on such demanding task, is my 6 years old system.zaphodikus wrote: ↑Thu May 04, 2023 9:11 am @asik1 you are a real help
