I want to place an clip on the overlay track to replace a part of the original video track. I need to line up the sound but I don't see how to get the overlay track to show the sound wave graph like the video track does. How can I properly align these?
Thanks for any help.

Re: overay sound
Nevermind; I just had the overlap clip muted. When I unmuted it, the audio wave showed up.

Re: overay sound
You mention the 'sound wave graph' and I am wondering if this is what you mean i.e. seeing only the audio representation where the video is placed:
I don't have VS 2020 so am using VS 2021. VS 2022 and 2023 are the same, though I don't know about VS 2020. But to get this audio view you click on the music symbol above the timeline (where my red arrow is pointing). You would of course need to expand the view of the tracks to second by second in order to align the overlay audio to the point in the main track where you want it to come in.
