originals retained automatically
Where does PaintShop Pro 2019 stores the original files? I edited a file and accidentally saved it under the name of the original so I can't find the original now.

Usually in a hidden folder in the same directory as the image you just saved over. So make hidden folders visible in file explorer and see if it exists.
If you've told PSP to maintain an original copy you have two options: You can manually copy it out of the backup folder, or you can use the "Restore Original" command in the Edit menu. PSP has two main commands "Revert" and "Restore Original". Revert is used to throw away all current edits by opening the original image from the harddrive. This only works if you haven't saved yet. After you've saved, if you have PSP keeping an original copy, you can just use Edit -> Restore Original and it'll remove the bad copy of the file and restore the original copy pre-save.
