Hi Guys,
I succesfully made a new project and created an ISO file. I tried a different menu and that did the trick! I will try this on my other project which kept on crashing later on. Maybe that was the reason why the project kept on crashing, the chosen menu.
For now I want to burn a Blu Ray disc of the ISO file of my new project, but I'm not sure how to do that. Since I've never done it that way. Can you help me with that? When I go to the Share tab I select Blu Ray and I can't see the ISO file to insert it into VS X9. Or isn't it possible to burn an ISO file on a Blu Ray disc with Corel VS X9?

If your ISO file was created as DVD iso then that can only be used to burn a DVD.
You would have to return to your project to create a Avchd video file, using the correct settings would create a compliant bluray video.
Knowing the properties of your source video and project settings will help in choosing the correct HD settings
Use this video to create a bluray folder or iso.

What menu template did you use that seems to be causing these crashes.
And did you add any background images or music to the menu

I'm not sure if the ISO file was created as DVD. I followed all the steps suggested by you and Ken:
"Hi
Just to add my thoughts here.
1/ Your video files from the Sony camera appear to be Bluray compliant.
2/ When you first insert the files to the timeline you should get a message to match the project settings. Selecting details will allow you to view the properties, then Yes
3/ After editing you render the project to a new video file, using the same settings as your video file, Share – Same as first video clip (option top left). Otherwise Same as project settings.
Check the properties are indeed same as your video files.
4/ This will render your project to a new m2t video file using 1920 x 1080 x 16000mbps x 50i uff.
5/ to burn a disc first we start a new project, this clears the timelines and uses the same project settings as in 4 above.
6/ Share - Disc-bluray, opens the burner module, we add our video created in 4 above. Top left for Insert video.
7 / after creating the menu we choose to create a disc image, an iso file, choose a save location.
8 / Which menu do you use, try a different menu, additional menus should be available from the Do More Content – Menu Pack 2
9 / Hit Burn -- the process should start with convert menu.
As you are using a Bluray compliant video there will be no Convert Title.
You should try / test the above using a short project, maybe a few minutes.
You can then apply the same approach to your main project."
I used a menu template that I'v used for several earlier projects. Never gave a problem. I did use some photos for the background of the menus. No music though. I never do that. So I think that maybe the chosen photos (jpeg-files) cause the constant crashing of the project. I will try other photos to see if that does the trick.

Hi
Treat the iso as a zipped file, you can unzip to extract its content.
If its a DVD then you will see Video_TS , this contains .vob files / your video
You should be able to import the Video_TS to video studio.
If the iso was bluray, unzip to find a BDMV folder, locate the Stream folder which contains your m2ts video.

Hi,
You are right. When I treat the ISO file as a zipped file, I can extract its content. It contains a BDMV folder with my m2ts video.
In the mean time I build the menu of this project again (step 6 and so on) and instead of making an ISO file, I directly burned a Blu-Ray disc. And I just finished it and it worked! I'm so happy.
This is however the new project of our last vacation. I now will try the same with the project that kept on crashing, using different photos for the background as well as another menu template. Fingers crossed. I will keep you posted how that turned out. Thanks again for your help.
