VOB files

Post by detectingdavid »

Hi all,
I'm trawling some of my old video files and I have some old .VOB files which I can't seem to play.
Can I play/convert these using VS?
Thanks in advance

Just use Windows File Explorer to change the extension from .vob to .mpg and you should be able to play the video, including in VideoStudio. This is because .vob files are part of a DVD, and in DVD parlance, they are in fact mpeg-2 videos already.

I did try that originally Barry but I ended up with a VOBVideo1.mpg.VOB file and I couldn't get FE to actually change the file extension from .vob to .mpg
I'll give it another go tonight.

Thanks

David,

Sounds like you have Windows hide extensions enabled. Check link below and try to rename VOB to MPG again.
