Unintelligible error message from VideoStudio My DVD

Post by Antois »

When I want to shorten music on the music track I keep getting a message from VideoStudio My DVD: The function you want to use is on a network source that is not available.
What is this strange error message? I just want to cut out a part of the music.

I can't say I use MyDVD so cannot say I have ever seen that message, let alone in relation to added music.

So you rendered your project (I assume) in VideoStudio and inserted the rendered video into MyDVD to burn it... As far as I am aware, MyDVD is a burning app and not an editing app. And that is possibly what your mysterious message is intended to mean. You cannot cut out anything from what is a finalized video inside MyDVD. You have to reopen your project in VideoStudio, edit it by trimming the music, and re-render your project. Then go back to MyDVD.

Thanks for your reaction.
I did not yet render the project, I am editing an audio file at the Music track (splitting the file) and then this strange message appears. I don't do anything with MyDVD, I used it long time ago but not in VideoStudio 2022. So this message is absolute irrelevant.

I am confused. Are you in Video Studio or MyDVD?

OK. The title of your post, with its reference to My DVD, might lead people to think that that is the unit you are using...

Back in VS, where is the original of the music you are trying to edit stored? From that error message it would seem that it might be on an external drive or USB stick drive which is no longer connected -- or perhaps was connected with one drive letter, but then disconnected and later reconnected with a different drive letter. In any case, VS can no longer find it it. Mind you, it would be more normal in such a case for VS to give you a relink message, rather than the one you received.

Sorry for the confusing post title. It's not about My DVD it's about Video Studio but the error message begins with the words My DVD.

Therre's no connection problem with external drives. I get these messages when I edit the Music or Voice track. I click away those notifications and after that the audio starts playing automatically which is also strange. But it is not a big problem I can handle it. It's just strange and irrelevant these messages.
