Copy past a section of video slideshow project

Post by Briansdad »

I am creating a slide show to showcase a number of photographers. After a single incidence of an introduction to the video, I repeat the same sequence of elements that include a graphically interesting attribution slide for the photographer followed by up to three of their favorite images. This part of the video contains customizations such as resizing text titles and graphic elements there are repeated from 60 to 100 times depending on the number of submissions I get.

(1) I would like to be able to copy the attribution slide and the image slides for one photographer and then
(2) Paste them to the current end of the project and then
(3) In the newly pasted elements I want to substitute the former photographer's name in the attribution part with the new one and replace photos with this new photographer's work - Rather than having to recreate every aspect of each photographer's section. [/list]

I cannot figure out how to do this! I can select all the elements, I can group them, but I can't find any way of just copying and then pasting at the end of the project, replacing the particulars for each photographer as I go, and continuing that process till all the photographers are included in the video slideshow. I hope I've described the problem clearly?

Basically, it is just copying a set of elements and the video, pasting them on the end of the project, and repeating (after edits). I have just 5 days to complete the project! Please help. Thank you.

custom templates
Sorry I only have that clue, as I've hardly ever used them - you might want to check this tutorial out that shows how to make your own one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Jh9PqcKmYA

Thank you for your reply. Your link was interesting but I don't think it's going to help in this situation. I have all the same creation problems but this time creating a template which then I would have to populate for a one-off project. But thanks again.

Assume that your VSP is named MY.VSP, and try the following steps:
  1. open the project named MY.VSP
  2. from Windows explorer, drag and drop MY.VSP into the Media library
  3. in the Media library select MY.VSP, i.e. highlight it
  4. hold down the shift key and drag and drop MY.VSP onto the end of your open project
After the last step, VS will append MY.VSP onto the end of your open project. Note that at times, VS takes quite awhile to complete the appending.
