Video Studio Ultimate 2023 "Out of memory" error when saving

Hello group,

For what its worth, i have also had this issue on two separate VSP files. I have not been able to intentionally duplicate. However, the error does go away if the program is shut down, then reopened and saved. I have also noticed that there is no actual loss of data in the VSP file. In other words, the file was saved.

I'm confused by the message from josephlin -- Will this error get corrected with a patch, or will the issue get corrected with the next complete upgrade?

... To be honest, I'm looking forward for the next update or hotfix for VideoStudio 2023 for month, but it's already June 2023 now and there's no solution for this annoying issue yet. This issue may occur after editing the video for two or three minutes or more. And everytime the "Out of memory" error appears, the whole application just becomes unstable, that means I might lose my current progress because the save function may not work at all. So Corel/Alludo, please solve this problem as soon as possible so that we can edit the video without any worries.

I just started a video with VS 2023 and have the same message when saving. What a pain. I forgot to see if there were any updates since this is the first time I opened 2023.

Sorry to report that as yet there have been no VS2023 updates, considering the amount of reported issues, an update is long overdue.

I have resorted to set the Automatic Save Interval in Preferences to 2 minutes. I have also found that if the error message appears, i have been able to avoid the message by starting the project at the beginning, then selecting Save. Sometimes that works, sometimes it doesn't. This issue certainly is annoying. But as far as i can see, there is no loss of data.

All that said, i feel the odds of Corel putting out a patch for this annoyance is very slim. This VS2023 release seems to have had a rocky start and that trouble continues . . .

I believe the Alludo development team are working on quite a few bugs / problems with Video Studio, I assume they will fix all before the next service patch is released.
But yes it has been a while since the release of VS 2023.

The actual out of memory message other than being annoying does not seem to affect our project. I seem to have more instances of the message after changing the timeline zoom, not sure if others have noticed that?

Following this post by +XY4x, i decided to check the video project i started yesterday to see if there were any issues. And, all of the work i did yesterday is gone. None of it saved!!. This is the first time this has happened where work did not save, albeit getting the "Out Of Memory" error repeatedly for months on very project. So, over 1 hour of work is gone. Not a big deal now. But. . . .

Last i heard, Corel is aware of the problem.

Can anyone offer a information/update on this problem?

Edit 11/6/23: I was mistaken with the above post. I was actually looking at the wrong file!! While i would still like to learn the status of this "Out of Memory" issue, i am able to save files. So very sorry for my confusion!!

I have this too. Someone on this forum suggested going all the way to the beginning of your timeline and then saving. This worked for me.
