video playback issue within the software
I recently downloaded a copy of VideoStudio through Amazon. It the time, I did not have active internet service. I was using my hotspot on my iphone through T-Mobile in order to access the internet. This process was very slow and took over 3 hours to complete the download. The issue I am having with the software is that the video playback stutters, which makes a sloppy video out of a normal one and cannot be dealt with because of it. I do have a screen capture copy of this issue, if it is possible to post here. I eventually got in contact with a tech support person who gave me a link on One Drive to fix the issue. It did not work. I cannot use this software with this issue and I am trying to find someone to help me repair the software to make it usable. My computer is a new Windows 11 HP laptop. The internet access I have gotten since I downloaded the software is T-Mobile Home Internet, and is amazing. My current connection is showing to be 433Mbps. Can anyone help me with this issue? I am at my wits end.

Welcome to the forum!
Did the tech guy give you a new link to download from? If so, with your new internet setup, you may want or need to reinstall VideoStudio. I assume you have your serial number somewhere safe. First you would need to uninstall your current installation. You can do so using Windows Control Panel > Programs and Features. But you should also then go to Program Files (x86) and look for a folder under Corel labelled Corel VideoStudio 2023 and simply delete the whole thing. I know it might sound a bit illogical to be looking for it in the x86 folder when your VS is 64 bit, but for some reason Corel puts the setup files you downloaded into the x86 folder to make it easy to find if you ever need to reinstall. But in this case, if your original download was somehow faulty, you don't want to use the installation files that are there but to download a whole new set. So try that and see if VS performs better.
If inserted video is still jerky, then it is probably likely to be a problem with the properties of the video you are inserting rather than VS itself. To start with, can you please right click on the video in the VideoStudio library page or timeline, select Properties, and copy ALL the details which then come up. That way we will have a better idea of what we are dealing with or take a screenshot of the Properties box and post it here as an Attachment. Please don't use File Explorer for this as it does not give enough detail. But if you have it you could also use a small freeware program called MediaInfo which will give much more than anyone would ever need by way of information about your video... You can copy and paste that here.

Re: video playback issue within the software
Thank you again, Ken. I was thinking that I might need to uninstall the original download first. He did give me a link that downloads a program that says "Install VideoStudio", but after serial number and Eula section it gives you three options : Modify, Repair, and Remove. His instructions were to choose the Custom option, which did not exist. I will try uninstalling first and then reinstalling using the Modify option given in the process. Hopefully, this will install the program correctly. The video that I was trying to edit had no issues with it, itself. That is why I thought it may have been something lost in the incredibly slow original download.

Re: video playback issue within the software
Well, nothing worked to resolve this issue. I even went back into the history and deleted the original downloaded files from Amazon and then restarted the entire process(including the CUSTOM option mentioned by Johnson Sunassee, who was the one helping me the other day. He is the only support tech that seems to have knowledge of customer service.
I have been trying to figure out how to send a screen recording of the video playing in the software, but apparently the attachment feature will not allow me to send a small MP4 video.

Re: video playback issue within the software
Thank you for that screen shot in your last post. It gives another reason why you may be having trouble. Your video has used the Quicktime .mov codec to film it. But VS does not come with a .mov codec natively. You need to add one. Apple, which owns the codec, no longer develop it for PCs because of some problem that came up several years ago, mainly with their player. But there is nothing wrong with just their codec. So have a look here to see how you go about loading just the codec so that VS can use it: https://forum.corel.com/viewtopic.php?p=396782#p396782
Hopefully that might make a major difference to how your video plays in VS.

If installing Quick Time does not improve things........
Can you try using Smart Proxy
Go to Settings - Preferences- Performance-enable Smart Proxy
When you add your video to the top track a proxy file should be created, does take some time to complete, for clips already on the timeline/library, right click for create smart proxy.
Once complete a green circle should show on the clip (VS 2023 only)
Also go the settings – smart proxy manager – file manager where a list of proxy files can be seen.
Hopefully this process will work for your Mov files as there are always some exceptions to the rules.
Tmeline playback should impove.

Re: video playback issue within the software
Since Ken told me about the .mov issue, all I have to do is convert my videos to .wmv file before putting them into the editor. This way I by-pass the problem entirely.
Ken, thank you so much for your help. And Trevor, I appreciate your input too.

Re: video playback issue within the software
But if you install the mov codec, you don't need to convert your videos to wmv...! And it's pretty simple to install too.
