Hauppauge PVR-150MCE and DVD MovieFactory 3.5

Post by hizannes »

Hello everyone,

I am trying to use this board to capture video off my VCR, but not luck so far.

First, I tried capturing, and was told that "HCW2 codec is not supported" or something like that. Then, I installed the patch for Hauppauge's WinTV-PVR products from Ulead's support pages, and MF won't do anything at all, telling me that

Above task/page DLLs failed to be loaded

Does anyone have experience using MovieFactory with a Hauppauge board and have any suggestions?

If I don't install the patch, I can do everything with MF except capture video.

Thanks

I think the capture driver is not installed properly. Maybe you can contact Hauppauge for an updated driver. After you install the updated driver, then apply the DVDMF patch to see if it works.

Hope this helps.

Just use WinTV2000 for capturing then import your clip in to MovieFactory.
I take you try install DVDMF 250/350 capture plugin that why your getting the HCW2 codec is not supported becuase 150/500 need a diff capture pluging in order to work.
Being you bougth the OEM card in stead of Retail card you will not get the plugin rigth now and I don't know if there any plan for released just plugin for 150/500 cards.

Dang, you are probably right I see. Oh well what did I expect for like 50€, at least WinTV2000 does the capturing job. It's just a bit depressing to see that my board is the least supported board there is, even if it is an OEM version.

I encountered the same problem. Go to start, control panel, add remove programs and click on Movie Factory. It will ask what you want to do, remove, repair, or remove. Choose repair and it will reinstall the needed DLL's.
It will now recognize the board, but I have not found a way to change channels. You can however change sources, and if you're using a VCR, then you should use the composite inputs.

Hopes this helps.
