We can then try on our systems.
It does seem unusual that this video is giving problems
Thanks, but I took the easy way out, upgraded to VS2023, and all is working perfectly now. I suspect that a full reinstall of VS2020 might have fixed things but wanted a more certain fix.

Two things regarding the video
1. Codec is AV1 video, I do not think 2022 supports av1, 2023 however has been updated and should support av1, I would suggest downloading the trial to see if that works.
2. The frame rate is variable, video studio has had problems running variable frame rates
As you converted the video I assume that would use a constant frame rate, although I would have converted to mp4 avc (not avc1) rather than mpg

Again try the trial version 2023, or provide us with a short sample and we can test for you
I had already installed VS2023, but as newbie started just few months ago with VS2022 en kept bit hanging in it because of the projects I started in it.
But today I tried to import the video in 2023. No luck.
Warming file format does not match. With something like a code 16801.5.1

Import file formats 2023 are: Import Formats
Video: AV13, AVCHD (.M2T/.MTS), AVI, DV, DVR-MS, GIF89a, HDV, M2TS, M4V, MKV, MOD, MOV2 (H.264/HEVC1), MPEG-1/-2/-4(H.264/HEVC1), MXF, TOD, UIS, UISX, WebM, WMV, XAVC, XAVC S, 3GP, Non-encrypted DVD title
And new feature:
NEW AOMedia Video 1 (AV1) Decode/Encode
For your convenience and workflow flexibility, VideoStudio 2023 Ultimate enables software decode/encode AV1 among different chips, including Intel, AMD, and nVidia.
I have an Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-10400 CPU @ 2.90GHz processor.

But Trevor I am completely satisfied with your conversion and going on with it.

I dropped the question THEN also at Corel support and NOW (about a month later) I got an answer. :-)
Thinking there were problems at support, because I got also a answer about PSP asked also end March.

For a solution when a videwill not import in VideoStudio they advise to use this convert method
