VideoStudio 2022 crashes every now and then

For a moment I thought the 2022 version was more stable than its predecessor but the program has already crashed or freezed three times in two days.

I experience the same issues with VS2022. My workflow/work around is:
a) Save (Ctl-S) after every edit;
b) Exit and re-open VS every 20-30 mins.

The 2022 version has not improved over the 2021 version in terms of reliability and audio editing. The program crashes or freezes frequently. Audio edits are performed one time and not the next. Disappointing though.

You do not give any details as to what you are doing when the crashes occur.

The type of Video / Audio clips used, any particular editing techniques you are using?

Video using variable frame rates can cause problems, mp3 audio using the Lame codec also causes issues.

So what type of files are you using?

Can you explain further, does editing audio files cause the program to crash, if no then start a new topic for your audio issues.

Yes, indeed. Editing audio files crashes the program. Last two hours already four times (27-05-2023)

It is not practical to list here the data of all audio and video files of a project which crashes. There are 4 audio files and 10 video files in this case. I do not expect a solution like this either.
I just think that users and Corel should know that this software crashes now and then and sometimes often.

I report a problem if it occurs repeatedly or persistently and if it is disruptive.
I see that the rating for Corel on Trustpilot is 1.3 on a scale of 5. I totally recognize that.

Thanks for the additional information regarding audio files.

Video Studio has had issues editing / working with mp3 audio where the Lame Codec is used.
So knowing your audio properties could be useful.

Recommendations to convert the audio files to say wav have helped in simular situations,
Audacity generally being used to do this conversion.
