Storing Audio and Video Files

Post by mreinsmith »

Is there a way to set VideoStudio to save screenshots and audio files in the same folder as the project you are creating?

Thanks

That depends on whether you have set your own Working Folder. Normally, the default Working Folder is C:\Users\[YourName]\Documents\Corel VideoStudio Pro\25.0\ for VS2022 and 26 for VS2023. But this is where all your projects put their vsp project files, so if you add audio and screenshots there, it will get very messy very quickly. At the very least you would need to create sub-folders to separate the audio and screenshots, and perhaps something in the name of the folders to link them to a specific project saved there.

On the other hand, you can change the Working Folder to whatever you want in Preferences > General. You can save your specific project vsp file there, and all video etc in it. And then when you create an audio file or screenshot, they could be saved there too. Each project can have a different Working Folder.

Note that there is a separate audio Working Folder in Preferences > General. But there is no rule that it can't be the same as the main Working Folder. However, again, you may find you need to create sub-folders there for the sake of sensible management if you have lots of video, audio, voiceovers, and pictures in the one project.

For what it is worth, I always change my working folder to be the same as my project folder where my videos are kept, then any Snapshot goes there, as do Saved Trimmed Video.
I also save the VSP to the same folder so all my files used in my projects are in the same folder.
Of course Share gives us the option to choose a File Location which remains the same till we update it.
