PSP opening tif files incorrectly

Post by evanbedford »

So, Windows Paint opens them just fine, but PSP opens them with weird coloring...although the initial thumbnails shown in the ""open" command look just fine. Any ideas as to what's going on?
thanks in advance.

Does it try to open in RAW editor? Some cameras use TIFF to store RAW data and in the past PSP has had a hard time making the determination on whether to use RAW interpretation or TIFF interpretation. The "Open" command uses Windows interpretation and some TIFF files have built-in thumbnails. Which would explain why it looks fine in the Open command but not once opened.

On further investigation, I found that it does not regard the file as a "supported file", only as an "all files". However, it opens up an old tif from b and w film made on an epson scanner without any problem. Curiouser and curiouser.
